New US-South America routes

LATAM Airlines Group and Delta Air Lines have announced four new routes between the US and South America. Each will add two to their network, LATAM connecting Miami to Medellin and Lima to Atlanta, while Delta will connect Atlanta to Cartagena and Bogota.

Here’s more information about all the new routes.

Note: All new routes’ flight schedule is subject to government approval.

LATAM Airlines Colombia: Miami to Medellin

Starting October 29, 2023, LATAM Airlines Colombia will enable travelers to book daily flights from Miami to Medellin. The City of Eternal Spring will be only a few clicks away, taking passengers from the Sunshine State to Colombia in 3.5 hours.

Here’s the planned schedule for LATAM flights between Miami and Medellin (subject to change):

  • Miami to Medellin – 6:30 PM to 9:55 PM
  • Medellin to Miami – 12:30 PM to 3:55 PM

Whether travelers book Economy or Premium Economy tickets, they will enjoy a fantastic service on an Airbus A320 aircraft.

LATAM Airlines Peru: Lima to Atlanta

Starting October 29, 2023, LATAM Airlines Peru will connect Lima to Atlanta, Delta’s headquarters. Peruvians will get to the Big A in approximately seven hours, seizing a thrilling opportunity to marvel at the bustling city’s historical landmarks and pop-culture sites. The same goes for Georgians visiting Peru’s capital, a lively metropolis famous as the City of the Kings.

Here’s the proposed schedule for LATAM flights between Lima and Atlanta (operating every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday):

  • Lima to Atlanta – 12 PM to 7:10 PM
  • Atlanta to Lima – 10:45 PM to 5:40 AM

Economy and Premium Business tickets will be available aboard a Boeing 767 aircraft operating the route.

Delta also connects these two cities with the following flight schedule:

  • Lima to Atlanta – 11:55 PM to 5:40 AM
  • Atlanta to Lima – 3:30 PM to 9:45 PM

The best part about this Delta route? It operates daily.

Delta: Atlanta to Cartagena

Most new Delta airline destinations in the joint venture with LATAM connect Atlanta, the airline’s hub, to prominent South American cities. Flights from Atlanta to Cartagena, the jewel of the Caribbean coast, have been among the most sought-after for years.

Interested travelers must wait until December 22, 2023, to book tickets to this exciting adventure. Considering they can spend the winter on Cartagena’s turquoise-water beaches, it’s worth the wait.

The planned schedule for Delta flights between Atlanta and Cartagena is as follows:

  • Atlanta to Cartagena – 9:50 AM to 1:55 PM
  • Cartagena to Atlanta – 3:20 PM to 7:35 PM

Delta will operate on this route every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Interested travelers can book Main Cabin, Delta Comfort Plus, and First Class tickets aboard a Boeing 737 aircraft.

Delta: Atlanta to Bogota

Flights from Atlanta to Cartagena aren’t the only options to visit Colombia from Georgia’s capital. Delta already has a daily route between Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia’s stunning capital. However, it has announced a new one, making traveling between the Big A and the Athens of South America a breeze.

Here’s the schedule for existing and new Delta flights between Atlanta and Bogota (operating daily):

Like Delta flights between Atlanta and Cartagena, these include Main Cabin, Delta Comfort Plus, and First Class services aboard a Boeing 757 aircraft.

LATAM and Delta’s joint venture has brought many more routes to their extensive combined networks. On July 1, Delta started flying from Orlando to Bogota before connecting Los Angeles to São Paulo on August 1.

The giant airline also operates from New York and Atlanta to São Paulo. Additionally, it will connect the Big Apple to Buenos Aires (starting October 28) and Rio de Janeiro (beginning December 16).

As for LATAM Airlines, the new routes connect São Paulo, Miami, Boston, New York, Orlando, Santiago, and Los Angeles.
